Acronym formed on South African National Students’ Congress, the name, from December 1986, of the student organization formerly known as Azaso. Cf. Cosas.

- The change of name from ‘Azaso’ to ‘Sansco’ was intended to prevent confusion with Azapo and Azasm (of the Black Consciousness movement). See also quotation 1991 at SASO.
