Bonsmara, noun

Origin:
Blend formed on the names of Jan Bonsma, a major figure in the development of the cattle breed, and of the Mara Research Station, at which the breed was developed.
(One of) a breed of beef cattle developed for local conditions by crossing the Shorthorn, Hereford, and Afrikander breeds. Also attributive. See also Afrikander noun sense 4.
