cheque-book, noun
colloquial. Used attributively or as quasi-adjective, especially in the phrase cheque-book farmer, one with capital at his disposal and therefore removed from active participation in farming, or freed from dependence on farming income. Cf. stoep-farmer (see stoep sense 2).
