An organization working for the political rights and social welfare of people of Indian descent living in the former province of Transvaal. Also attributive. Cf. Congress sense 1.
1983 Daily Dispatch 2 May 9The TIC traces its origins back to the formation by Mahatma Gandhi of the Transvaal British Indian Association in 1902 and was later a key member of the Congress Alliance during the passive resistance campaign of 1952.
