In Nguni languages, first person plural prefix si we + auxiliary infix -ya- (forming definite present tense) + vuma assent, agree.
Among isiXhosa- and isiZulu-speaking people: ‘we agree’, the traditional response when a diviner’s diagnosis meets with approval; also found in other contexts.
